Trilogy of one man shows

Cry of the Dreamer

Cry Of the Dreamer’ tells the amazing story of a lesser known Irish hero John Boyle O’Reilly. In this show Tyrrell effortlessly traces his journey from early childhood set against a backdrop of famine, revolution, Fenianism and penal servitude for life in Australia and his great escape from there to the USA. . . . No Go Blavatsky

This show is  a comic, musical journey but not as we know it. Tracing Tyrrell’s travels through music, song and story often with hilarious consequences. From his innocent awakenings in Galway of the sixties, to exotic climes such as Moate, Comeby chance and far beyond. . . . . . MORE

The Midnight Court

Sometime in the latter part of the 18th century, Brian Merryman wrote a poem in Irish called “Cuirt an Mhean Oiche”. Tour News

Looking forward to getting back on the road after a long lay off. I am embarking on a tour of the USA with my one man show 'Cry Of The Dreamer' in  April/May 2008 and will be touring it again in the USA Sept/Oct. All going well. Below are the Spring dates and places I am doing on this trip. If you have friends in some of these places and can’t attend yourself you might pass on the word.

It charts my finding the book 1000 years of Irish poetry and the discovery John Boyle O'Reilly. It then charts his amazing life, moral, political and social philosophy and constantly throughout the hour and half  I try to imagine what he would think of  the political situation we find ourselves in today. There are fourteen songs and five instrumentals linking the whole piece. It is not all doom and gloom though  as he was fond of good giggle himself, there are some comic songs in there as well. It has been premiered at The Burren Art College, Ballyvaughan and at Gleann Columkill House County Clare.

I would like to acknowledge generous support for the development of this show from The Deis scheme the Irish Arts Council and Clare County Council.

Johnny Mullins from the big show that great multi instrumentalist will be my one man band.
